The Sushi Demi is responsible to carry out assigned duties from superiors to prepare sushi dishes as per recipes to sustain consistency of sushi section.

Responsibilities
  • 2.1 Assist CDP in his day to day preparation
  • 2.2 Follow directions in helping to prepare various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
  • 2.3 Handles a wide range of raw fish and other ingredient.
  • 2.4 Select fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes (like avocado, mango and carrots)
  • 2.5 Add additional flavours to sushi rolls with ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce, when appropriate
  • 2.6 Prepare food activities, like boiling rice
  • 2.7 Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
  • 2.8 Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift
  • 2.9 Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products.
  • 2.10 Perform other duties as requested.

Communicates professionally with the supervisor in charge and subordinates while keeping a productive working environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • 4.1 Minimum 2-3 years of kitchen experience,
  • 4.2 Understands oral and written instructions in English
  • 4.3 Handles multiple priorities and works under stress
  • 4.4 Maintains all international standards of health guidelines for food preparation and safety
  • 4.5 Passes all required job-related tests.
  • 4.6 Ability to perform manual labour.
Physical Requirements of the job
  • 5.1 Work involves moderate exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
  • 5.2 Moderate physical activity, such as handling objects up to 25 kilograms and standing or walking for more than 6 hours per day
  • 5.3 Work environment involves potential exposure to hazards or physical risks, which requires following basic safety precautions
