Job summary

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM PTE. LTD. seeks an Operating Theatre Technician to maintain a safe, clean OT environment and assist the surgical team. You will check and prepare equipment, support the patient transfer and positioning, and assist during procedures.

Role requires initiative, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a busy surgical setting with strict cleaning timelines.

Qualifications

WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Operating Theatre Support) or relevant working experience as an Operating Theatre Technician.
Possess initiative and keen to learn.
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Check suction and diathermy machines for cleanliness and proper function.
Check operating lights for clarity and proper functioning.
Prepare operating room table and accessories; ensure readiness for cases.
Assist in safe patient transfer and positioning in the OT.
Assist surgeon in application of tourniquet and monitor equipment.
Maintain lighting and assist nurses in patient care within OT.
Perform daily inventory of positioning aids and accessories.
Clean the OT between cases within 15 minutes.
Dispose biohazard materials properly and maintain housekeeping of OT suites.
Stay in OT to assist surgical team as needed (e.g., adjust liners, fetch equipment).
Transport patients to/from OT and ward as required.
Routine cleaning of OT equipment (tourniquet, light source) weekly.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
