Role Overview

The Legal Support Specialist 2 is a developing professional role that applies specialty area knowledge to monitor, assess, analyze, and evaluate processes and data. The position identifies policy gaps, formulates policies, interprets data, provides recommendations, researches factual information, identifies inconsistencies, defines business issues, and integrates disciplinary knowledge with an understanding of industry practices. The job’s impact is mostly confined to the team, with limited but direct influence on the business through the quality of tasks and services delivered.

In this role, you’re expected to:
  • Provide master agreement related support to internal departments, including Risk, Margin Operations, Operations, Business, MAC Documentation Operations, and Legal.
  • Be involved in and manage global regulatory, documentation remediation, and ad‑hoc projects related to master agreements, coordinating with other contract management/business teams worldwide.
  • Negotiate and prepare ISDA Master Agreements, Variation Margin and Initial Margin Credit Support Annexes, Global Master Repurchase Agreements, Global Master Securities Lending Agreements, Cleared Derivatives Execution Agreements, and other trading documentation.
  • Provide legal support related to legal operations, technology, budget/expenses, risk/controls, litigation/discovery/settlements, or administration.
  • Handle varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex and have tight deadlines.
  • Manage tasks associated with programs or projects, liaising with other control and functional business units in support of projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in billing or legal settlements.
  • Work closely with the team’s manager to complete tasks assigned.
  • Manage calendar, schedules, finalize reports and presentations.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Skills and Exposure
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department, law firm, financial services, consulting, technology firm or related industry.
  • Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, exceptional verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of legal customs and practices.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry.
