This strategic role will lead and optimize our supply chain operations across procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution, ensuring our products reach markets efficiently, reliably, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
Role Overview
As the Supply Chain Director, you will manage the day-to-day operations of our entire supply chain function, overseeing procurement, inventory management, distribution, and logistics. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and hands‑on operational oversight, ensuring that we meet demand, optimize costs, and remain compliant with industry regulations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the supply chain strategy, managing supplier relationships, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Strategy & Execution: Develop, execute, and continually improve supply chain strategies to meet market demands while minimizing costs. Focus on enhancing supply chain efficiency and responsiveness, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Demand & Supply Planning: Lead the creation of accurate demand forecasts and inventory plans, working closely with production teams to ensure the supply chain can meet market needs.
- Procurement Management: Oversee sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, and components. Cultivate strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost‑effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
- Logistics & Distribution Optimization: Manage the coordination of transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers. Maintain adherence to Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and ensure smooth import/export processes.
- Inventory Control & Waste Minimization: Monitor stock levels, track product expiration dates, and implement measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with cGMP and local regulations. Prepare for and manage regulatory audits, ensuring continuous readiness for inspections.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce operational costs, and improve supply chain resilience. Use data‑driven insights to make informed decisions that enhance efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous development. Drive performance excellence while ensuring the team's alignment with overall business objectives.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 12‑15 years in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment. Proven experience in global sourcing, logistics, and regulatory compliance is essential.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate cross‑functional teams. Experience in managing large‑scale supply chain operations and making strategic decisions that affect the business as a whole.
- Skills: In‑depth knowledge of GMP, GDP, and other relevant industry standards. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and data analytics to support decision‑making and operational optimization.
- Problem‑Solving & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines. Strong problem‑solving skills to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and navigate complex supply chain challenges.
