Detailed Job Duties & Responsibilities – Supervisor (Electrical)
The Supervisor will assist the company in coordinating and overseeing day-to-day electrical works for ongoing projects. The role supports the project team, ensures safe work practices, and supervises technicians carrying out electrical tasks. Detailed duties include:
1. Coordination of Daily Electrical Works
- Plan, organise, and assign daily tasks to electricians and technicians according to project requirements.
- Brief the team on work activities, site conditions, and safety considerations before starting operations.
- Monitor the progress of installation, servicing, testing, and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
2. On-Site Supervision
- Supervise electrical works such as cable routing, trunking, wiring, lighting installation, power point installation, and equipment servicing.
- Ensure workmanship follows project specifications, drawings, and company procedures.
- Identify technical issues on site and escalate them to the Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or Project Engineer for guidance.
3. Safety Enforcement
- Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) rules, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
- Conduct toolbox briefings and remind workers of PPE requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, near‑misses, or accidents immediately to the safety team or management.
4. Quality Assurance & Technical Support
- Conduct routine inspections to check the quality and accuracy of completed electrical works.
- Assist in basic troubleshooting of electrical faults and guide technicians on corrective actions.
- Support the LEW or engineer during testing, commissioning, and rectification works.
5. Material, Tools & Resource Coordination
- Check availability of materials, consumables, tools, and equipment needed for each task.
- Coordinate material requests and ensure items are properly accounted for.
- Maintain proper use, upkeep, and storage of electrical tools and equipment.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Record daily manpower deployment, site progress, and completed work activities.
- Prepare simple reports and submit them to the project manager/LEW for review.
- Update management on delays, variations, or issues affecting project timelines.
7. Communication & Liaison
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Communicate job requirements clearly to workers and address any site‑related concerns.
- Represent the company professionally during inspections or meetings.
8. Workforce Guidance & Support
- Provide on‑the‑job guidance to junior technicians and new staff on proper work procedures.
- Ensure workers follow company policies, work instructions, and safety standards.
