REPORTS TO:

Principals

SUPERVISES:

Learning Support Teachers, English Language Learning Teachers, Health Officer, Socio-Emotional Counselors, Library and Media Center Director, and Health Officer

JOB GOAL:

To provide leadership in collaborating with teachers, parents, and external stakeholders to ensure a positive and inclusive school environment that fosters holistic student success with a Biblical worldview.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the Student Support Team and oversee school-wide systems for student referral, intervention, and progress monitoring.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for student support, collaborating with principals, counselors, teachers, and parents to design, implement, and review academic, behavioral, and emotional interventions through regular meetings that monitor student progress.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and external specialists to ensure coordinated support for students.
  • Oversee systems for monitoring student behavior, supporting restorative responses, and ensuring alignment with school policies and values.
  • Provide training and support to teachers in implementing effective classroom management and restorative discipline strategies.
  • Provide guidance, support and coordination to supervisees.
  • Support professional growth for supervised faculty through mentoring, goal setting, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records for student support activities and interventions.
  • Prepare reports and data analyses to inform school leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for Learning Support, English Language Learning (ELL), Counseling, and Health Services teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the Child Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.
  • Lead annual program reviews for Learning Support, ELL, and Counseling to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Assist the Principals in the hiring of faculty for the Student Support Team.
  • Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
  • Meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, open-mindedness, dignity, and consideration.
  • Serves on the FLT+ (Field Leadership Team +)
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Meets certification requirements of recognized accrediting agency responsible for issuance of school’s accreditation
  • Experience working in student services, counseling, or a related role within an educational setting.
  • (Preferred) Master’s degree in counseling, education, or special education, and/or experience in an international or Christian school context.
  • (Preferred) Teaching experience in both elementary and secondary school
