About the role

Mandarins Student Care is seeking a Part-Time Student Care Teacher/Assistant to join our team. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for primary school students after school hours.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, can support them academically, and is able to communicate effectively in English, with basic conversational Chinese preferred. You will primarily focus on English-based learning, while also supporting our bilingual environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and ensure the safety, well-being, hygiene, and discipline of students (Primary 1–6)
  • Guide students in completing daily homework, spelling and assignments (with a focus on English)
  • Provide additional academic support to students as needed
  • Support facilitating engaging enrichment activities that nurture character and life skills
  • Assist in conducting lessons and activities, in English or Chinese (depending on teaching strength)
  • Ensure smooth and safe transfer of children from school to the centre
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding children’s progress when required
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety in classrooms and common areas
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a caring, and supportive environment
  • Assist with light administrative duties and other tasks as delegated by the Centre Head / Senior Teacher
Requirements
  • Minimum GCE ‘O’/‘A’ Levels; Higher NITEC, Diploma or higher preferred
  • Experience in student care, tutoring, or education-related fields an advantage
  • Able to guide Primary school English
  • Conversational Chinese (to support our bilingual environment)
  • Responsible, patient, and passionate about working with children
  • Commitment to providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all students
  • Positive work attitude and integrity in all tasks
