Job summary

A marine engineering company in Singapore is seeking a Structural/Design Engineer for project cargoes. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Marine Engineering and over 5 years of experience in the field. You will be responsible for reinforcing vessel structures and creating plans for cargo securing. Familiarity with CAD tools and a strong understanding of marine structures are essential. 🚢 We’re Hiring: Structural / Design Engineer (Marine for Project cargoes)

If you’re passionate about ships, cargo, and problem-solving, this role could be for you!

What you’ll be doing:
  • Look at vessel hull strength and come up with smart ways to reinforce structures for heavy or project cargo.
  • Create plans and reports – think lashing, stowage, securing, dunnage, and heavy lifting.
  • Work with owners, charterers, shipmasters, and class societies to get approvals and resolve any technical questions.
  • Support our commercial team with technical input during vessel evaluations and tenders.
  • Keep records updated, spot opportunities to cut costs, and improve the way we do things.
  • Share your knowledge with the team and train others when needed.
What we’re looking for:
  • A diploma/degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Around 5+ years’ experience as a structural or design engineer in shipyards or marine engineering.
  • Confident with CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar), plus analysis software like Femap/Nastran.
  • Experience in cargo lashing design (e.g. DNV Lashcon), and some knowledge of lifting/rigging.
  • Strong grasp of vessel stability, cargo loading, welding, and marine structures.
  • Someone who can work independently but also enjoys teamwork.
  • Calm under pressure and able to handle those “last‑minute” situations.
