A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Structural Engineer to work on design and drafting activities. Responsibilities include preparing structural steel drawings and assisting in project documentation. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in steel structure design, be knowledgeable of local building codes, and possess proficiency in AutoCAD. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to significant engineering projects in a collaborative environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Work with Structural Design Consultant for designing and drafting activities required.
Study and interpret drawings for works to be carried out and independently prepare structural steel drawings with necessary detailing and material take off.
Drawings produced shall encompass requirements for structural steel fabrication, bolted & welded construction, lifting plan, pre-assembly shop drawings, and NDT plans.
Design of foundations and supports for other trades, such as Mechanical, Piping, E&I and HVAC.
Should have wide knowledge of steel specifications and testing requirements for steel plates and sections.
Assist in the preparation of structural modelling, analysis and design reports.
Support the project team to ensure that proper documentation for on-going works, shop drawings, as built drawings, etc. are well managed.
Minimum 5 years work experience, with knowledge in designing steel structures or buildings.
Conversant with Local Building codes &/or Marine/Offshore classification requirements.
Proven experience in AutoCAD is required.
Knowledge of modelling & shop drawing software such as Tekla Structures &/or structural strength analysis software such as Staad Pro will be added advantage.
