Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore invites professionals to join our defence relations team. You will work closely with MINDEF and SAF Joint/Services to strategise and plan engagements with Countries of Interest to achieve policy outcomes, while maintaining an overarching view of SAF's defence relations.

You will plan calendars, coordinate with internal stakeholders, assess implications of geopolitical developments, identify trends, conduct research, and prepare briefs for leadership.

Qualifications

• Education in International Relations, Political Science, History or Social Sciences related fields.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; second language advantageous.
• Keen interest in current trends across Singapore's political/geopolitical, defence and security developments.
• Team player who is motivated and motivational.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee defence relations calendar of events for identified SAF leaderships.
• Coordinate with various internal stakeholders.
• Assess implications of developments on SAF policy.
• Develop deep expertise in each country's strategic dynamics, key issues, personalities and perceptions of Singapore/SAF.
• Identify emerging trends in defence relations.
• Conduct research, synthesise information and present informed recommendations.
• Prepare briefs and briefing folders.
