Job description
Objective

A Strategic Supply Chain manager is responsible to achieve best possible cost savings while ensuring the most beneficial supply base for the company. This includes the strategic relationship, the contracting, performance review and improvement of the supply chain.

Tasks
  • Commodity Management for technology competence area (e.g. Mechatronics, Electronics, Vision) on a global base
  • Supplier development and performance monitoring using Quality, Logistics, Technology, Costs (QLTC) methodology
  • Define Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) per module, create comprehensive business cases, align with stakeholders, propose scenarios and decisions for senior management
  • Initiate and Coordinate sourcing projects, cooperate with various departments: R&D, Operations, Product, and regions (Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, China)
  • Contribute to the preparation and definition of company's Sourcing Strategy, suport with analysis and statistics, execute the tasks according to defined strategy, monitor execution using defined KPIs
  • Coordinate supplier selection, onboard and qualify according company's processes (emphasis on Asia content)
  • Strive for establishing of a cost and quality competitive global supply chain which is well integrated with company's operational and development processes
  • Negotiate contracts with product and non-product and related suppliers with support and agreement from VP Strategic Supply Management
  • Negotiate prices and other conditions, according including QLTC methodology and open costing
  • Work with the supplier to agree on corrective actions to resolve escalated issues or look for alternative suppliers when necessary
  • Coordination with the local and global Material Management departements, Logisitics and the Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
  • Make sure that all necessary purchasing parameters (vendor data, contracts) are given and stored properly and take appropriate actions whenever necessary
  • Proactive improvement of the quality along the entire supply chain in close cooperation with relevant departments (Product, R&D, Material Management).
  • Ensure the availability of up-to-date supply market information. (focussing on Commodity Modules)
Process Responsibility
  • Work according defined supply chain processes and use the tools listed in these processes
  • Supplier Selectionand Development
  • Vendor Management: Build up and maintain global supplier portfolio Execute supplier performance management.
  • Contract Management: Creating and maintain global contract system which covers all type of suppliers. Store contracts systematically (in paper- & in electronic form)
  • Supplier performance monitoring

  • Relationship with Key suppliers
  • Contribution to Sourcing Strategy in defined area

Education
  • Engineering and / or commercial education
Technical Knowledge
  • Module and manufacturing process (Key components, technology, production process, testing methods, quality inspection etc.)
  • Basic engineering (electronic, mechanics, mechatronics) in the areas od development and / or manufacturing
  • Industrial engineering background (as additional benefit)
