The Storeman in a construction setting is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and issuance of construction materials, tools, and equipment. The role supports site operations by ensuring timely availability and accurate tracking of materials, contributing to smooth project execution.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, tools, and equipment at the construction site.
• Check delivery notes and inspect items for accuracy, damage, or defects.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and report discrepancies immediately.
• Issue materials and tools to site workers as per request forms.
• Maintain accurate records of issued and returned items.
• Monitor usage and assist in preventing material wastage.
• Conduct regular stock checks and inventory counts.
• Record stock levels and inform supervisor of low or critical stock.
• Assist in reordering materials based on site needs.
• Liaise with site supervisors, suppliers, and logistics teams.
• Assist in scheduling and arranging material deliveries to avoid project delays.
• Support tool maintenance and calibration checks (if required).
• Ensure the storage area complies with HSE standards (clean, dry, organized).
• Secure hazardous or flammable materials according to regulations.
• Wear appropriate PPE and enforce safety procedures in the store area.

Requirements
