China Jingye Engineering Corporation Limited (Singapore Branch) invites applications for a senior structural steel engineer to lead design, detailing and erection activities on mega-projects in Singapore.
The role requires coordination across multiple disciplines, adherence to international codes and Singapore standards, and effective communication with clients and partners to ensure timely project delivery.
Lead and coordinate structural steel engineering activities from design development through fabrication, erection, installation and project handover.
Review structural calculations, engineering drawings, shop drawings, connection details and fabrication drawings.
Ensure structural steel designs comply with project specifications, approved design criteria, relevant codes and statutory requirements.
Coordinate structural steel works with architectural, civil, reinforced concrete, MEP, process equipment and other specialist systems.
Review and resolve technical issues relating to steel connections, loading, tolerances, clashes, constructability and installation constraints.
Liaise with clients, consultants, designers, fabricators, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams on structural steel matters.
Review method statements, erection sequences, lifting plans, temporary works proposals and risk assessments.
Supervise steel fabrication, delivery, assembly, erection, alignment and installation activities.
Monitor subcontractor manpower, resources, productivity, workmanship, quality and construction progress.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with approved drawings, material specifications, welding procedures and quality requirements.
Coordinate material verification, welding inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), dimensional checks and other required inspections.
Identify structural risks, design discrepancies and construction constraints, and develop practical corrective solutions.
Prepare and review technical submissions, engineering reports, inspection records, progress reports and as-built documentation.
Support project planning, procurement, material control and scheduling of structural steel work packages.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety, quality, environmental and project-specific requirements.

Experience with heavy, large-span and complex structural steel systems.
Good knowledge of fabrication tolerances, erection tolerances, alignment and dimensional control.
Strong understanding of welding procedures, welder qualifications, welding inspections and NDT requirements.
Experience reviewing lifting plans, erection sequences, temporary supports and structural stability arrangements.
Ability to coordinate steel interfaces with reinforced concrete, architectural, MEP and process systems.
Good understanding of structural behaviour, load paths, constructability and value-engineering principles.
Familiarity with Singapore building requirements and internationally recognised structural design standards.
Experience in BIM-based structural coordination and clash detection.
Knowledge of design-and-build, EPC or turnkey project delivery is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of structural steel engineering and construction management for large-scale or mega projects.
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structural Designer or equivalent.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural steel detailing software such as Tekla Structures.
Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks and BIM coordination platforms.
Good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, Singapore Standards and other applicable international design standards.
Good understanding of structural steel material grades, welding requirements, corrosion protection and fireproofing systems.
Ability to interpret structural specifications, design drawings, fabrication drawings and contractual requirements.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality control and inspection requirements for structural steel works.
Strong technical-report writing, documentation and presentation skills.
Effective written and spoken English communication skills.
Knowledge or experience in high-tech industrial, semiconductor, cleanroom or advanced manufacturing projects is highly preferred.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, other relevant engineering disciplines with strong structural steel experience may be considered.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a structural engineering or equivalent technical leadership position.
Experience in L&K projects or similar high-tech industrial, semiconductor, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing or EPC projects is strongly preferred.
