Job summary

MULTIMEDIA ENGINEERING PTE LTD is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to design and analyze steel and cable structures per project specs and standards.

Responsibilities include preparing calculations via FEA, producing design and fabrication drawings, and reviewing connections and weld details with IDEA StatiCa. This role involves coordination with architects, clients, and site teams to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Civil and Structural Engineering design.
• Proficiency with steel 3D modelling, analysis & design software such as Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Experience in programming languages such as C++, Python, and Fortran will be considered an added advantage.
• Experience in tensile membrane, ETFE skylight will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze steel / cable structures in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Prepare structural calculations using finite element analysis (FEA), design reports, and engineering submissions.
• Develop and review structural shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Review steel connections, welding details, and member sizing using IDEA StatiCa.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, and project teams on structural requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with fabrication and installation teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical support during construction and erection works.
• Participate in value engineering, design optimization, and technical proposal development.
• Contribute to the development of computational mechanics and innovative structural engineering solutions
