Job summary

Public Service Division is seeking a lecturer in the School of Mathematical Sciences & Analytics to teach Statistics and potentially AI, Data Analytics, Programming or Mathematics. You will contribute to curriculum development and collaborate on interdisciplinary modules such as Data Fluency and Data Storytelling.

The role involves designing course materials, staying current with mathematical trends, and innovating pedagogy to enhance student learning and employability.

Qualifications

• Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring students.
• Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.
• Relevant qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Engineering.
• Relevant industry experience and/or knowledge of how statistics is applied in different fields such as Data Analytics, Engineering or IT.
• People-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, written and communication skill.

Responsibilities

• Teach Statistics and, where possible, one or more of AI, Data Analytics, Programming or Mathematics.
• Teach at least one interdisciplinary module such as Data Fluency, AI and Its Impact, Persuasive Communication with Data Storytelling, Problem Solving with Creative and Computational Thinking.
• Develop and review course materials and assessments to enhance student learning, performance, and employability.
• Stay current with trends and developments in Mathematics to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and up to date.
• Design new class activities and contribute to pedagogical innovation to enrich the student learning experience.
