Job summary

Alpaca is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Singapore to architect and ship brokerage and platform services for New Markets in the region. You will partner with global teams and represent engineering for Singapore stakeholders, with focus on architecture, APIs, reliability, and mentorship across the Singapore stack.

This is an individual-contributor role focused on technical leadership, incident response, and collaboration across time zones with US and regional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering with Go or equivalent.
• Experience with distributed systems at scale.
• Staff-level impact including architecture ownership and cross-team leadership.
• Excellent English communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship scalable brokerage services (gRPC, REST).
• Lead regional architecture for multi-region, multi-currency contexts.
• Own API quality, performance, and reliability for regional workloads.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and regional stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call and incident response for regional stacks.
