Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a senior designer to lead and maintain our design system across digital products. You will audit components, ensure consistency, and collaborate with engineers to implement patterns that scale.

A strong portfolio and 7+ years of design experience are essential, with preference for design-system stewardship and advanced UI skills in Figma. You will influence cross-functional teams, advocate for best practices, and help evolve our components based on user feedback and evolving

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a designer with strong design systems experience.

• Strong UI design skills with proficiency in Figma.
• Content strategy knowledge; HTML/CSS knowledge is a bonus.

• Ability to collaborate across teams to maintain a consistent design system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits to gather use cases and UX patterns and define reusable components.
• Identify inconsistencies in component usage and deviations from the design system.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment and adoption of a consistent component set.
• Work with developers to implement and quality check components.
• Craft usage guidelines and enforce processes for upkeep of the design system.
• Advocate for the design system's value and drive adoption internally.
• Continuously enhance the design system based on feedback and industry trends.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits to gather use cases and UX patterns across our digital products, create reusable component and pattern definitions that can support a diverse range of use cases.




• Identify inconsistencies in existing component usage and design, and deviations from the existing design system




• Work collaboratively with teams to ensure alignment and adoption of a consistent set of components and patterns




• Work collaboratively with developers to implement and quality check components




• Crafting component and pattern usage guidelines




• Enforce processes to guide the appropriate usage and upkeep of the design system




• Champion the value and advantages of the design system to internal stakeholders, advocating for its adoption within our organization, and demonstrating its positive impact on user experience and efficiency.




• Continuously enhance and adapt the design system based on user feedback, industry best practices, and emerging design trends.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years as a designer, with preferably 2+ years of experience maintaining a design system




• A portfolio that demonstrates a deep understanding of product design, craftsmanship, and innovative solutions from conception to launch




• Strong UI design skills with proficiency in Figma




• Content strategy, HTML/CSS knowledge is a bonus




• Excellent methodical and critical thinking skills
