Staff Nurse (Dept of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery)

KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital – Bukit Timah

The Staff Nurse provides direct care under the supervision of a Senior Staff Nurse and above. She is accountable and responsible for delivering safe and competent nursing practices.

The duties include:

Demonstrates ability in utilising resources in patient care

Demonstrates good interpersonal relations with public and staff

Assesses, implements and evaluates the nursing care for patients under the guidance of Senior Staff Nurse: Breast reconstruction, Flap reconstruction, Off drains and sutures, Burns, Aesthetic Surgery, Cleft and craniofacial, Hand Surgery

Performs a variety of procedures that meet the patient’s physical and emotional needs

Delivers and evaluates general health education for patients and their significant others

Records informative, accurate and concise statements on nursing care rendered to patients

Performs with the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of holistic care for patients

Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and their significant others

Implements and evaluates ideas and suggestions for the improvement of patient care

Performs established operational and nursing policies and procedures under the guidance of Senior Staff Nurse and above

Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Staff Nurse/Nurse Manager

Job Requirement:

Diploma in Nursing and registered with the Singapore Nursing Board

Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience as Staff Nurse

Trained or experienced in surgical, OT, perioperative is highly preferred.
