Overview
The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering effective and efficient nursing management, care, and counselling to patients undergoing assisted reproductive treatments/procedures. This position involves direct involvement in clinical procedures, assisting with surgeries, medical tasks, and ensuring a smooth and empathetic patient experience in a fertility treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide assistance to surgeons during fertility treatment procedures in the operating theatre.
- Support Medical Practitioners: Assist in tasks such as ultrasound scanning, artificial insemination, and other relevant medical procedures.
- Total Patient Care: Responsible for the full spectrum of nursing duties assigned to ensure comprehensive care of patients.
- Operating Theatre Support: Provide circulating assistance to the scrub team efficiently, ensuring patient safety and smooth operations.
- Independent Scrub Work: Perform scrub duties independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a sterile environment.
- Inventory Management: Organize surgical inventory listings and maintain the orderliness of the surgical trolley to enable efficient location of instruments during procedures.
- Financial Counselling: Conduct financial counselling for patients, providing clear and concise information regarding costs and treatment plans.
- Medical Records Management: Ensure accurate management of medical records and medications, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Venipuncture: Perform venipuncture for blood draws as part of treatment protocols.
- Liaise with Clinics: Coordinate and communicate with clinics regarding patient cases to ensure seamless care.
- Stock-Taking and Procurement: Assist in stock-taking and procurement of necessary medical supplies and equipment.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Diploma in Nursing.
- Licensure: Singapore Registered Nurse with valid registration with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- Preferred Experience: Relevant nursing experience in operating theatres (O&G) or IVF settings is highly desirable.
