Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer (Communication Protocol) in Singapore. You will lead architecture, design, and maintenance of embedded firmware for industrial communication solutions, driving protocol development and reusable frameworks across platforms.

You will collaborate with global teams, mentor engineers, and stay current with industrial networking, cybersecurity, and embedded firmware trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in CS/CE/EE with firmware concentration.
• 7+ years in communication protocol development for real-time firmware.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python; strong debugging and testing skills.
• Experience with embedded systems, networking protocols, and cybersecurity basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and maintenance of embedded firmware for industrial communication solutions.
• Drive development and integration of protocols (EtherNet/IP, BACnet, PROFINET, Profibus, Modbus TCP, SNMP, Serial).
• Define architectures and reusable firmware frameworks across products.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor firmware engineers.
