Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and leadership for NAND‑related debug in SSD systems through triage, debug, and root cause of NAND‑Firmware Interaction (NFI) issues.
- Interface between NAND design and product teams to support enterprise SSD development.
- Act as a representative to the SSD product development team and product quality to identify, detect, and reduce risks both during product development as well as for field risks.
- Conduct detailed debugging and failure analysis across firmware, hardware, and system interactions using lab equipment and software instrumentation.
- Integrate AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands‑on experience with NAND flash, non‑volatile memory technologies, or memory controllers.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware/software development or NAND technologies.
- Experience in firmware verification and validation, debugging, and failure analysis within laboratory and system settings.
- Experience with storage technologies and/or memory systems, and collaborating with hardware teams.
- Experience in leading highly‑visible taskforces with cross‑functional deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of storage interfaces such as PCIe/NVMe and system‑level storage architectures.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and low‑level debugging in embedded environments.
- Experience with high‑speed signal analysis and debug.
- Strong scripting/tool development skills (e.g., Python) and experience building debug/validation automation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams, lead ambiguous problem solving, and mentor engineers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying AI‑assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) to drive efficient debugging, root‑cause analysis, and rapid comprehension of complex issues.
- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
