Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Singapore is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance as you develop advanced embedded software for our product portfolio. You will work across MCU platforms and RTOS, designing device drivers, BSPs, and firmware update mechanisms while mentoring other engineers.

This role focuses on robust, scalable software and adheres to IEC62304 standards to support mission-critical health and safety solutions.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and architectural guidance while developing innovative software solutions that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. REQUIREMENTS

• Master's degree or higher with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in professional embedded software development
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Expert proficiency in embedded C/C++
• Strong experience in RTOS embedded systems including MCU architecture memory maps, interrupt handling, DMA. Experience designing and developing Board Support Packages, HALs, device drivers and embedded software update mechanisms
• Multithreading, synchronization, concurrency, scheduling latency and resource constraints
• Hardware interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, RS-485 and USB
• Experience with Git, build systems, cross-compilation toolchains, and automated firmware builds.
• Provide technical leadership and strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and guide teams effectively.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC62304
