Job summary

Micron Technology Singapore seeks a Staff Engineer to own Real-time Defect Analysis (RDA) within NAND Technology Development. You will lead defect detection strategies, inspection recipe development, and sampling optimization to accelerate learning, improve yield, and support tech transfer to manufacturing.

You will collaborate with Process Integration, Yield, Data Science, Global Manufacturing, and suppliers to standardize methods and align capabilities with next-gen NAND nodes while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 7+ years experience.
• 3+ years hands-on Real-time Defect Analysis in semiconductor manufacturing/equipment engineering.
• Experience in defect inspection, process monitoring, and yield learning.

Responsibilities

• Own the site-level RDA strategy and annual roadmap aligned with NAND Technology Development nodes.
• Lead analysis of experimental and production flows to detect, classify, and trend defects.
• Establish, track, and report program health metrics including baseline health, detection rates, false positives, and MTTR.
• Lead rapid containment for defect excursions by initiating tool quarantine actions and driving 8D corrective actions.
• Develop inspection recipes and sampling strategies balancing sensitivity, throughput, and cost of ownership.
• Coordinate with Process Integration, Yield, and Data Science to correlate inspection signals with device performance and yield.
• Evaluate and qualify next-gen optical/e-beam inspection capabilities and support supplier roadmap alignment.
• Standardize and share Best Known Methods across global sites.
• Mentor and coach engineers to strengthen technical capability in RDA.
• Drive safety, continuous improvement, and lean initiatives to improve cycle time and learning velocity.
• Communicate inspection strategy, program health, risks, and recommendations to engineers and leadership.
