Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Singapore seeks a Staff/Senior Engineer for NAND Research & Development (Dry Etch). You will work on advanced dry etch processes and ensure they meet stringent device requirements across NAND technology.

You will collaborate with process integration and other disciplines, perform root-cause analysis, maintain pilot lines, and participate in technology transfers with travel as needed. AI-enabled tools are encouraged to improve efficiency and outcomes.

• Conducting root cause and failure mode analysis to understand the limitations of current hardware and driving vendors for solutions.
• Performing fundamental research to drive innovative solutions for next-generation products.
• Maintaining a technology development pilot manufacturing line.
• Support process transfer to production facilities (travel may be required).
• AI Responsibilities: Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency and quality.

As a Staff/Senior engineer, you will be a part of revolutionary next generation NAND research & development dry etch team driving critical modules listed below. The position promises ample opportunities for innovation, collaboration and testing a new dimension and scaling with next generation NAND. You will work directly with process integration and other process areas such as Wet etch, CVD, Diffusion, Metals, Lithography & CMP. You will work on state of the art and best in class dry etch chambers & own the process roadmap to meet program and yield goals.

Job Responsibilities

Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.

Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrate research and development aptitude in science and engineering fields. Examples of experimental design and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use extensive technical knowledge to guide strategic directions.
• Ability to resolve complex issues through root-cause or model-based problem solving.
• Proficiency in statistics (preferred) and in statistical process control.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal direction, and a focus on meeting commitments.
• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
• Fundamental knowledge of at least one of the following: transport phenomena, dry etch processing, kinetic theory, statistical thermodynamics, or plasma physics.
• Data science basics / Python coding / GenAI programming is desirable.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
• Education MS + 3-4 years of relevant experience involving dry etch in semiconductor industry/ PhD +1-2 years (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, Physics, Chemical physics, Chemistry, Semiconductor engineering or relevant majors). Internships could be considered as a part of job experience.
• BS (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, Physics, Chemical physics, Chemistry, Semiconductor engineering or relevant majors) + 5 years of relevant experience in dry etch AI Requirements Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role appropriate AI literacy to use AI enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
