Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Singapore is seeking a Staff System Firmware Engineer to join our PMB development team. You will lead architecture and development of system-level firmware platforms for industrial automation, reporting to Firmware Security Manager, and work in a hybrid setting at the Singapore Office.

The role requires strong background in embedded firmware, real-time control, C/C++, and experience with RTOS, networking, cybersecurity, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with concentration in firmware; or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in embedded system firmware development with emphasis on analysis, design, programming and testing of real-time firmware and device drivers in C/C++.
• Experience with Green Hills Integrity OS, Multi IDE, TCP/IP networking, Git (CI/CD), Jira and Jama.
• Familiarity with Agile processes like Scrum and SAFe.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and evolution of system-level firmware platforms for industrial automation products.
• Establish firmware technology roadmaps, architecture strategies, and reusable framework programs across product families.
• Design and implement firmware subsystems that optimize performance, memory, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership for integrating embedded firmware, communication protocols, OS, networking stacks, and cybersecurity technologies.
• Define system interfaces and architecture requirements across firmware, hardware, systems, safety, and cybersecurity domains.
• Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical risk assessments.
• Mentor firmware engineers and leads across teams.
• Lead investigations for complex system-level issues affecting performance, reliability, networking, security, or interoperability.
• Collaborate with global partners to align architecture decisions and product strategies.
• Influence engineering processes, CI/CD practices, and software quality initiatives.
• Represent in technical discussions with customers, external partners, certification bodies, and industry groups.
