Job summary

Google Singapore is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Android Trust team to own safety-critical areas of the Android ecosystem. You will lead the design, deployment and scale of ML/AI models, including LLMs and GenAI, to protect users, developers and stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, influence project priorities, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment while navigating evolving regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing, launching software products, and 3 years in design/architecture.
• 5 years of experience with Speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or related ML field.
• 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own critical areas of Android ecosystem safety.
• Lead design, development, deployment and maintenance of large-scale engineering systems for counter abuse.
• Lead the design, deployment and scaling of ML/AI models including LLMs and GenAI to protect users and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables; mentor distributed engineers.
• Adapt to a fast-changing regulatory environment with multiple stakeholders.
