Job summary

PayPal in Singapore is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead complex technical projects, coordinate engineers, define tasks, and raise engineering standards while representing the company to external partners and stakeholders. You will shape architecture and improve systems end-to-end.

You will focus on building agentic commerce, knowledge, and personalization solutions, leveraging cloud platforms and AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience leading engineers and delivering large-scale systems.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical project leader, coordinating the work of other engineers, defining technical tasks, and improving existing systems and processes. You will make key technical decisions, partner with management to set engineering standards, and represent the company to external partners.

You will focus on building agentic commerce, agentic knowledge, and personalization solutions. The role calls for an AI engineer who is familiar with the full agent-building lifecycle and experienced with cloud platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prefer: Python, Java, LangGraph, RAG, prompt and context engineering, GCP Vertex AI, Bigtable, Cloud SQL, vector databases, etc.
