Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital is seeking a Podiatrist to provide podiatry services within a multi-disciplinary setting in Singapore. The role includes assessing, diagnosing and treating common foot conditions such as ingrown nails, fungal nails, callus and verrucae, and managing biomechanical foot problems with footwear advice, orthotics and offloading devices.

The position covers wound management and, with Orthopaedic Surgeon approval, risk assessment for nail surgery and performing partial or total

Qualifications

• Degree in Podiatry.
• Experience in assessing and treating common foot conditions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat common foot conditions including ingrown nails, fungal nails, callus and verrucae.
• Manage biomechanical foot problems with footwear advice, orthotics and offloading devices.
• Wound management including debridement and total contact casting; perform nail surgery risk assessments and avulsions under local anaesthesia when permitted by an Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Job Summary

The role of the Podiatrist is to provide Podiatry services within a multi-disciplinary setting. The Podiatrist is able to assess, diagnose and treat common conditions for:

• Ingrown toenails, fungal nails, skin conditions on the foot such as callus, corns, and verrucae
• Biomechanical foot related problems; prescribe footwear, orthotics, offloading devices, stretches and taping
• Management of foot wounds; conduct wound debridement, offloading insoles, total contact casting

Staff who is certified by an Orthopaedic Surgeon can carry out risk assessments for nail surgery and to perform Partial or Total Nail Avulsions under local anaesthesia.
