Overview

Senior Field Engineer Beyond2u Pte. Ltd., your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities critical to our organization's success, including:

Responsibilities
  • Advanced Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Lead and perform diagnosis and resolution of complex hardware/software issues (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals). Manage installation, configuration, and upgrades of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and critical applications. Provide advanced network support including LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and router/switch troubleshooting. Serve as the escalation point for unresolved or high-impact technical issues from junior engineers.
  • On-Site & Remote Supervision: Attend client sites for complex repair, maintenance, deployment, or transition projects. Oversee junior field engineers or subcontractors during on-site jobs to ensure compliance with scope and quality standards. Ensure proper documentation of solutions and troubleshooting steps in service management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk). Validate that all service tickets are accurately tracked and closed in a timely manner.
  • System Maintenance, Security & Infrastructure Planning: Plan and lead scheduled maintenance activities, including firmware/driver updates, OS patching, and regular system backups. Implement and monitor basic cybersecurity measures, including antivirus deployments, user access reviews, and password security policies. Coordinate setup and optimization of communication systems including VoIP, conferencing tools, and remote access systems. Provide technical recommendations for infrastructure improvements based on site evaluations.
  • Client Communication & Service Reporting: Act as the key technical liaison with clients, delivering issue updates, resolutions, and system improvement suggestions in clear business terms. Ensure client satisfaction through timely follow-ups and resolution verification. Compile and submit comprehensive service and technical reports for internal use and client review. Maintain detailed inventory logs and ensure availability of required tools, spare parts, and system components.
  • Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance, training, and support to junior field engineers and new team members. Conduct peer reviews on technical work and documentation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and knowledge base documentation.
  • Ad-hoc Responsibilities: Participate in internal projects, system rollouts, or emergency support activities as assigned by the IT Manager or Project Lead. Perform other relevant duties that support service quality and operational goals.
