Job summary

MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR ASIA OPERATIONS PTE. LTD. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage building electrical construction for semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments.

You will oversee HV/MV/LV power distribution, substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, and tool power that support critical operations. You will coordinate with Mechanical, I&C/Controls, CSA, Process, and tool hookup teams, drive energization readiness, and ensure compliance with Global Facilities Electrical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is required.
• 8-12+ years of electrical engineering experience in semiconductor fab, cleanroom, or high-tech projects.
• Proven experience leading power distribution, UPS, and critical electrical systems through commissioning and handover.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety and reliability principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical leadership and oversight of electrical engineering for HV/MV/LV power distribution, substation gear and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, I&C/Controls, CSA, Process, and tool hookup teams to resolve electrical issues and sequencing challenges.
• Act as technical authority for RFIs, deviations, and field changes with focus on safe, compliant operations.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization plans to ensure Ready For Manufacturing and Fab readiness.
• Support handover to Facilities Operations and reliability teams and contribute to continuous improvement of standards.
• Lead safety reviews and ensure compliance with LOTO/permit-to-work in live fab environments.

Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing building electrical construction to achieve safety, cost, schedule, quality and sustainability objectives. Electrical engineering and construction include (but not limited to) governance to ensure electrical systems serve semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments. The role ensures cost and budget planning, monitoring and controlling that electrical system of HV, LV, transformer, generator and back electrical supply and any other electrical utility systems are designed, installed, energized, commissioned, and handed over in compliance with Global Facilities Electrical Standards, safety regulations, and Fab milestones including all facilities system readiness, Cleanroom Readiness Pressurization, Ready For Equipment (RFE), and Ready For Manufacturing (RFM). Additional responsibilities include facilities maintenance, facilities administration and mechanical related maintenance, documentation and administration.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Technical Leadership & Electrical Engineering Oversight

• HV / MV / LV power distribution
• Substations, transformers, switchgear, and switchboards
• UPS, generators, and emergency power systems
• Tool power distribution (process tools, AMHS, facilities equipment)
• Cleanroom and sub‑fab lighting systems
• Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection
• Review and approve electrical design packages, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Ensure compliance with Global Facilities - Electrical Specifications and project standards.

Construction Execution & Cross‑Discipline Coordination

• Lead electrical coordination with Mechanical, I&C / Controls, CSA, Process, and tool‑hookup teams.
• Resolve complex site electrical issues, clashes, and sequencing challenges.
• Support construction planning related to phased energization and cleanroom readiness.
• Lead electrical coordination and energization readiness meetings.

Change Management & Technical Authority

• Act as technical authority for electrical RFIs, deviations, and field changes.
• Evaluate impacts to:
  • Power reliability and redundancy
  • Electrical safety and code compliance
  • Cleanroom operations and tool readiness
• Provide technical input for change approvals and risk mitigation.

Testing, Commissioning & Fab Readiness

• Lead electrical commissioning strategy and execution.
• Review and approve testing, commissioning, and energization plans.
• Ensure electrical systems are stable and reliable for:
  • Cleanroom certification
  • RFE (tool move‑in)
  • RFM (production readiness)

Handover & Operations Transition

• Review and approve electrical as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.
• Support smooth handover to Facilities Operations and reliability teams.
• Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement of standards.

Safety & EHS Leadership

• Lead electrical safety reviews including energization risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with LOTO / COHE and permit‑to‑work requirements.
• Promote safe practices in live fab and cleanroom environments.

Integrates AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.
