Job summary

A local education services provider in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Speech & Language Therapist to provide school-based therapy for students with autism and intellectual disabilities. Collaborating closely with teachers and parents, the SLT will deliver individualized interventions and support communication development. The role requires a recognized degree and registration with the AHPC, offering a two-day work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized speech and language therapy services within a school environment.
  • Conduct pull-out sessions and/or provide in-class support for students.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and AHPs to ensure holistic student support.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports for students receiving therapy.
  • Participate in student assessments with other professionals.
  • Conduct training and coaching sessions for teachers and parents to enhance communication strategies.
  • Utilize and demonstrate proficiency in AAC tools.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to provide school-based therapy services for students aged 7 to 14 years old with moderate to severe autism and intellectual disability.

The SLT will work closely with teachers, parents, and other Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to support students’ communication and language development through individualized and classroom-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized speech and language therapy services within a school environment.
  • Conduct pull-out sessions and/or provide in-class support for students.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and AHPs to ensure holistic student support.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports for students receiving therapy.
  • Participate in student assessments with other professionals.
  • Conduct training and coaching sessions for teachers and parents to enhance communication strategies.
  • Utilize and demonstrate proficiency in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Proloquo2Go.
Working Schedule
  • Work Days: 2 days per week (preferred days negotiable)
  • Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Excluded Days: Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and school holidays
Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Recognized Degree in Speech & Language Therapy
  • Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children with autism and intellectual disabilities
  • Proficiency in AAC tools (e.g., PECS, Proloquo2Go, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
