Job summary

BAIN CAPITAL seeks an Associate in Singapore for a two-year program with potential for ongoing employment after it ends. You will perform fundamental company-specific research by engaging with management, visiting sites, and attending industry conferences.

You will build earnings models, perform valuation analyses, and contribute to buy/sell recommendations while learning the firm’s straightforward investment process and data-driven approach to investing.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Associate program is a two-year commitment, with potential for ongoing employment following end of program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform fundamental company-specific research in industry specific sectors – visiting company management, doing original on-site research in the field (with customers, suppliers, and others likely to have unique insight into a company’s or industry’s fundamentals), and attending industry conferences
• Perform industry-level analyses that will inform the investment process and provide critical context
• Build earnings models and perform valuation analysis
• Make proactive buy/sell recommendations and communicate your views effectively with team members
• Learn and adopt the firm’s straightforward investment process, characterized by direct verbal communication and/or concise written investment summaries supported by in-depth data-driven analysis (i.e., quantitative models of market size/growth, competitive positioning, and financial statements/analysis valuation)

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of three years of post-undergrad business and/or investing experience with a highly regarded investment management/banking firm or private equity firm.
• Experience analyzing and/or evaluating companies
• Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience
• Work experience characterized by strong and disciplined analytical skills to execute data-driven industry and competitive evaluations
• A fundamental, analytically-driven approach to investing
• Experience interacting with and assessing senior management teams and strong relationship building skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in team environments
• Strong analytical/modeling capability
• Self-motivated and "high-energy", with a great sense of urgency and drive to succeed
• Naturally inquisitive and a great listener.
