Job Description Summary

In this role, as an Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology (AMRT) Special Process Development Engineer you will be responsible for developing & industrializing repair processes such as welding, brazing, machining, surface preparation & treatment, and inspection processes, on a variety of industrial gas turbine components to deliver value to our global GE Vernova business partners. You will be part of AMRT Repair Development team to standardise and develop processes for the global repair network to deliver quality and productivity.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop new manufacturing and repair process technology to assist component teams in implementing repair strategies or fulfilling factory NPI requirements.
  • This role will focus more on developing automation and robotics process.
  • Create a validation plan for repair materials/process technology in conjunction with New Repair Introduction engineers.
  • Ensure the successful transfer of development processes and validate repair service centers' qualifications and certifications for their repair procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Provide continuous improvement support and seek opportunities to enhance processes across the repair network.
  • Utilize lean-manufacturing values for daily work and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change inside and outside the organization when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering degree.
