The role

Cheval Group Private Limited is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team in the Changi East Region. As Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the overall management and execution of the kitchen operations. This is a full-time position.

What you\'ll be doing
  • Assist the Head Chef in the overall management and supervision of the kitchen staff and operations

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items, ensuring they meet established quality and presentation standards

  • Oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes, maintaining high levels of food quality and consistency

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, placing orders for ingredients as needed

  • Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with all relevant health, safety and hygiene regulations

  • Train, mentor and provide feedback to kitchen staff to develop their skills and expertise

  • Support the management of the kitchen budget and costs

What we\'re looking for
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within a reputable restaurant or bar kitchen

  • Strong technical cooking skills and an extensive knowledge of a wide range of cuisines and cooking techniques

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff

  • Proven track record of contributing to the development and implementation of successful menu offerings

  • Proficient in inventory management and cost control

  • A passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
