Job summary

Amazon Web Services Singapore is seeking a VMware Specialist Solutions Architect for the ASEAN Specialist Team. You will guide customers on running VMware workloads on AWS and architect cloud solutions across ASEAN, collaborating with domain specialists and acting as a trusted advisor.

You will author guidance content, participate in conferences, and help scale the role while promoting AWS best practices and workload modernization.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure architecture and VMware technologies including vSphere, NSX and vSAN.
• Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure and cloud concepts.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect AWS-based solutions for VMware workloads across ASEAN.
• Provide guidance on AWS architectures and best practices for customer workloads.
• Collaborate with domain specialists and act as trusted advisor to customers.
• Represent AWS at conferences and create scalable mechanisms to extend the role.

The ASEAN Specialist team at AWS is looking for a VMware Specialist Solutions Architect to work with our customers across ASEAN. If you enjoy working on advanced technologies on the cloud and have a strong background with VMware technologies, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help our ASEAN customers leverage the benefits running their workloads on AWS.

Key job responsibilities

As a VMware Specialist SA in the ASEAN Specialist Team, you bring in the critical VMware experience that will help us address the requirements of our customer’s workloads. You will be the go-to person for providing guidance on AWS architectures and best practices for customer workloads. In this role you will

• Architecting for running customer workloads on AWS.
• Helping customers modernise their workloads leveraging the power of AWS.
• Authoring blog posts, whitepapers etc. showcasing your thought leadership
• Representing AWS in large conferences.

A day in the life

What does the day in the life of a VMware Specialist SA look like? You will

• Collaborate with a group of domain specialists
• Work on complex problems to identify solutions for our customers.
• Work as a trusted advisor to our customers and the ASEAN leadership.
• Provide technology guidance to customers and the field teams.
• Represent AWS in large conferences and events.
• Create mechanisms that help you scale your role.

The ASEAN Specialist Team is a team of domain experts with deep expertise and experience in their technology domains. The Specialist SA team is responsible for technology/thought leadership working across the entire lifecycle of engagement with our customers in ASEAN. They strive to be the trusted advisors for our customers and are key contributors to the technology strategy in ASEAN.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking
• Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure
• Strong understanding of VMware technologies like vSAN, NSX & vSphere among others
• Strong understanding of resilience features such as vSphere High Availability, vMotion, and DRS
• Understanding of VMware vRealize and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) products and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
• Industry/Cloud Certifications including AWS & VMware certifications
• Technology breadth- Broad understanding of key technologies such as Databases, Modern Application Architectures, Data & Analytics & Security
• Experience migrating workloads to AWS.
