Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Solutions Architect to uncover deep customer pain and map transformation journeys, architecting Stripe solutions and managing complex third-party integrations. You will drive executive briefings, design roadmaps, and ensure solutions align with strategic business objectives.

You will partner with sales, product and engineering to deliver demonstrations and technical wins across global markets, including engaging with enterprise merchants and multi-region deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role such as sales engineer, pre-sale solution consultant or solutions architect for a global software enterprise.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin to work with enterprise Chinese merchants based in China

About the team

The Solutions Architecture Team partners with our users to realize their full potential through the adoption of prescriptive solutions that drive their growth and success.

We work with founders, C-level executives, finance leaders, product design and engineering teams at large global brands and platforms who are building financial services solutions with Stripe. We work closely with Account Executives, Professional Services, Customer Success Managers, Partners, Technical Account Managers Product, and Engineering teams to develop and execute on the account strategy for Stripe in market.

What youll do

Your mission is to uncover the deepest levels of customer pain and desired outcomes, going beyond surface-level requirements. By truly understanding their strategic business objectives, you will architect and tailor Stripe's solutions as the definitive answer to their most pressing challenges. You will be instrumental in mapping the customers transformation journey, crafting future-state roadmaps and solution architectures that inherently factor in complex third-party integrations.

Responsibilities

• Execute meticulous technical discovery, conducting in-depth business analysis and background research on customer operations, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to build a foundational understanding that informs every proposed solution. This goes beyond fact-finding; its about understanding their "why."
• Lead strategic engagements, guiding users through a structured discovery process to align with their core business priorities. You will design compelling, technically sound solutions and master the "technical win" by evangelizing these proposals through executive briefings, comprehensive readouts, tailored presentations, and impactful solution demonstrations that resonate with the customers specific challenges and desired future state.
• Identify and articulate expansion opportunities, strategically extending Stripes footprint within existing accounts into new global markets and business units. This involves introducing new capabilities and local payment methods, always with a clear focus on the technical feasibility and the value delivered at each touchpoint.
• Act as the "Voice of the Customer" within Stripe's product and engineering teams, meticulously capturing insights, emerging trends, and new opportunities from the field. You will champion these requirements, ensuring they are accurately prioritized and inform future product development.
• Serve as the critical technical counterpoint to the sales executive, providing invaluable technical insight and designing robust solutions for both prospective and existing platform users. You will be the expert guide on Stripe's technical merits and strategic benefits for both platforms and their end-user base.
• Craft and deliver compelling technical demonstrations that dont just show features, but powerfully showcase how Stripe's platform solves specific business problems, highlighting the unique value proposition, key differentiators, and potential for customization. Crucially, you will illustrate how these benefits cascade directly to the customers own user base, driving their success.
