Job summary

XTREMAX PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced cloud architect/lead to design and deliver cloud-native solutions. You will steer MVP/POC projects, define IaC-driven automation, and mentor teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes scalable, secure cloud architectures across AWS, GCP, Azure, and other providers, with a focus on automation, DevOps practices, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ten years of IT industry experience with a focus on cloud architecture and solutions.
• Experience building complex solutions on AWS, GCP, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT is preferred.
• Solid understanding of containers and serverless architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; agile/DevOps or DevSecOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to translate requirements into cloud-native architecture blueprints.
• Define a forward-looking technical vision for cloud solutions with IaC, automation, and scripting.
• Develop scalable, reliable, cost-efficient cloud solutions using core services.
• Analyze business and technical needs to design optimal cloud architectures.
• Provide precise specifications for cloud delivery, incl. IaC and automation techniques.
• Lead MVP/POC deployments on cloud platforms to demonstrate feasibility and value.
• Mentor development teams and foster innovation and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud issues with automation to minimize downtime.
• Utilize cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure infrastructure health and security.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into detailed architecture and design blueprints, with a focus on cloud-native approaches and best practices.
• Introduce a forward-thinking technical vision for cloud-based solutions, emphasizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and scripting to streamline infrastructure management and deployment processes.
• Develop comprehensive technical solutions that leverage cloud services and technologies, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze both business and technical challenges, identifying functional and non-functional needs within a cloud environment to design optimal solutions that meet client objectives.

• Lead the delivery of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Proof of Concept (POC) implementations on cloud platforms, demonstrating the feasibility and value of proposed solutions to customers.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in cloud architecture and infrastructure practices.
• Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting complex technical problems within cloud environments, leveraging automation and scripting to streamline resolution processes and minimize downtime.
• Utilize cloud-native services for monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure proactive management of infrastructure health, performance, and security.
• Drive automation initiatives across cloud infrastructure, scripting routine tasks and workflows using languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently and reliably.
• Incorporate best practices for security and compliance into cloud-based solutions, leveraging native security features and third-party tools to protect data and applications against emerging threats.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud computing, infrastructure automation, and DevOps, continuously refining solutions to meet evolving business needs and industry standards.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in one or more areas of the IT industry
• Experience building complex solutions on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or any other cloud provider
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Information Technology is preferred
• Solid understanding of containers and serverless architecture
• Experience designing relational or non-relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Aurora, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Experience with agile approaches and experience in DevOps or DevSecOps
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tool
• Good communication and presentation skills
