Job description
Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect (Air Traffic Management Systems) to lead the definition, stabilization, and delivery of complex real-time, safety-critical systems used in airspace or critical infrastructure environments. This position is responsible for developing architecture that meets demanding operational, security, and regulatory requirements while ensuring system performance, safety, and maintainability. You will work across the full project lifecycle from concept and design through implementation and support, collaborating with cross-functional engineering, product, and customer teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the overall solution architecture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Propose innovative, technically compliant solutions aligned with customer needs and project constraints.
  • Analyze architectural trade-offs involving performance, cost, security, and risk.
  • Drive the definition of system interfaces, breakdown structures, and data/information flows.
  • Specify and validate Technical Performance Measurements (TPMs).
  • Develop and maintain formal architecture documentation and models.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders including engineering leads, design authorities, and system integrators.
  • Review infrastructure, platform, and security design elements to ensure they meet system constraints.
  • Ensure architecture meets functional and non-functional requirements including:
  • Performance
  • Safety and human factors
  • Security and data protection
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Support key project reviews and deliverables (PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Mentor junior architects and contribute to architectural governance and best practices.
  • Required Skills and Experience
    • Bachelor\'s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in real-time, complex system architecture, ideally in regulated or mission-critical domains.
    • Hands-on experience designing secure, distributed infrastructure and network architectures.
    • Familiarity with industry standards for safety/security (e.g., ICAO, Eurocontrol, FAA, SESAR, or equivalent).
    • Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Experience working with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
    Desirable Experience
    • Experience with architecture modeling tools (e.g., Capella, Enterprise Architect).
    • Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Jira).
    • Exposure to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar enterprise agile methodologies.
    Other Requirements
    • Eligible for local security clearance.
    • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
