Job summary

Dell Technologies in Singapore is seeking a Software Principal Engineer to drive the design and development of sophisticated systems and software solutions aligned with customer needs and business goals.

You will contribute to architecture, specify software/storage requirements, and help shape test strategies for complex products across platforms and hardware environments. The role requires broad hands-on expertise and mentoring across teams.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, firmware, BIOS, device drivers, databases, and networking.
• Ability to code/debug and mentor others on scalable, complex programs.
• Experience with multiple languages, databases, OS, and hardware platforms.
• Quick to learn new tools and systems with hands-on experience.

As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

• Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex systems and software/storage environments
• Prepare, review and evaluate software/storage specifications for products and systems
• Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems

Essential Requirements

• Good knowledge of programming languages; operating systems; firmware; BIOS; device drivers; databases; system, network, operating system, and application administration; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities
• Ability to code/debug and guide others to code/debug flexible, scalable and complex programs, using either written or verbal design specifications
• Experience with multiple programming languages, databases, operating systems, tools and hardware platforms
• Ability to learn new tools, languages and operating systems with some training and on-the-job experience

Desirable Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree
