Job summary

Google is expanding its software engineering footprint in Singapore with a focus on building next-generation technologies across massive-scale systems. As part of the Product Security initiative, engineers will contribute to secure coding practices and drive innovations to protect users and data.

You will join the Core team developing foundational platforms, collaborating across product areas, and shaping the engineering culture for a new Asia-Pacific hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional software engineering. Dive into the codebase, build robust solutions, and be a foundational contributor.
• Partner closely with technical leads, product managers, and program managers to execute on the team's goals and AI strategy.
• Stay on the rapidly developing agentic threat landscape and boldly embrace the changing AI environment, writing high-quality code.
• Collaborate with partner teams in Google's Software Supply Chain Integrity program to integrate security solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
• Experience using, building, or contributing to developer ecosystems, package managers, and build system.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security issues, vulnerability management, or related fields.
• Active participation in open-source development, or working on projects with heavy open-source dependencies.
• A passion for designing seamless, intuitive developer experiences and workflows.
• Enthusiasm for collaborating cross-organizationally to deliver massive technical impact.

In this role, you will play a massive part in establishing our engineering culture and bringing innovation to our new location.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems.
