Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer III in Singapore to join the Asset & Wealth Management technology team. You will design and deliver trusted technology products securely at scale within an agile environment, contributing across multiple domains to support business objectives.

You will work on secure production code, modern web tech stacks, and AI-assisted tooling to improve quality, speed, and automation, while ensuring robust testing and architectural integrity across services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience.
  • Commercial experience with Java and React.
  • Experience designing scalable micro-services using RESTful.
  • Knowledge of server-side technologies (Spring/Spring Boot, messaging frameworks such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, Maven/Gradle, JUnit).
  • Knowledge of web technologies (Sass/CSS/HTML/JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS ecosystem).
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and automated testing (React Testing Library / Cypress).
  • Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases and JVM performance analysis (profiling, heap/thread dumps, GC tuning).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins), Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools with validation of outputs for correctness, performance and security.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related disciplines and 3+ years applied experience
  • Commercial experience working with Java and React
  • Experience in designing scalable micro-services using RESTful
  • Knowledge of server side technologies (Spring/Spring boot, messaging frameworks such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, maven/gradle, junit mocking frameworks)
  • Knowledge of the web technologies (Sass/CSS/HTML/Javascript/Typescript/NodeJS ecosystem and bundling tooling)
  • Experience in developing, debugging and automated testing (e.g. react testing library / cypress) within a commercial setting
  • Expertise in Databases, relational, and No-SQL and JVM performance analysis including profiling, heap dump analysis, thread dump analysis, and GC tuning within a commercial setting
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins), Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies Such As ag-grid, state management such as redux
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
