Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight in Singapore seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a skilled team delivering Crew and Ops management products. You will configure software to client environments, capture requirements, develop and test solutions, and continuously improve value for customers.

Travel within APAC is possible as part of the role. Ideal candidates have MSc/BSc in related fields, strong programming skills, and proficient English; Mandarin is required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients and configure the application to the client’s environment.
• Capture requirements, develop and configure the software, and perform optimization modelling/tuning.
• Verify and test the software and explore value improvements for clients.
• Travel to customers within APAC region as needed.

About the Position:

The Professional Services department is responsible for the configuration and delivery of our Crew and Ops management products to airline customers and to make sure that we deliver solutions that our customers truly need. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in our Singapore location. This is an opportunity to be part of a skilled team of developers that solve some of the most challenging optimization problems in the world, value diversity and learn from each other.

Position Responsibilities:

• As a Software Engineer you will work closely with our clients and configure the application to their business environment. We are looking for developers with strong communication skills, both inside a team and towards clients, who can explain decisions and technical solutions in a pedagogical and confident way. The successful candidate is good at dealing with technical challenges and programming tasks as well as handling client expectations and building long-term customer relations.
• Your tasks will include; understanding the client’s needs, capturing requirements, developing and configuring the software, optimization modelling/tuning, verifying and testing and continuous exploration of how to improve and increase the value proposition to our clients.
• For these positions it is vital that you are passionate about learning the Airline business and that you see yourself contributing to workshops and communicating with different stakeholders as part of the requirements gathering process.
• All positions will be based in Singapore, and the candidate needs to be able to travel to our customers from time to time as part of the job. Mainly within APAC region.

Basic Qualifications / Competencies (Required):

• MSc or BSc in Computer Science / Physics Engineering / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• Programming experience
• Experienced with Unix / Linux environment
• Strong team player qualities
• Demonstrates strong communication skills in the English language
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required.

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies (Desired):

• Python, Shell scripting, SQL, Web development, Java, functional programming
• Experience working within a Scrum team or in similar agile project setup such as SAFe
• Airline Crew Management and Jeppesen Crew product customization experience
• Ability to speak additional languages fluently

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through MSc or BSc in Computer Science / Physics Engineering / Industrial Engineering or equivalent Programming experience.
