Additional job description

In this role, you will build Cloud Interconnect, which virtualizes the edge and foundation and allows enterprise customers to connect their on-premises data centers/networks to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at 100 and 10 Gb/s speed. Interconnect has been one of the key features for GCP to onboard large enterprises and as such is a high impact project. You will also span to connecting smaller customers through partners, as well as building ultra-low-latency interconnects in order for customers to be able to use large file stores and databases operated by third-parties, adjacent to (but not within) Google data centers. You will manage complexity from physical network and routers through cloud virtualization.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the launch of Cloud networking infrastructure to enable AI driven workloads to unlock their full potential.
  • Design, develop, and scale cloud networking products and infrastructure to enable the hybrid cloud technical roadmap, ensure their availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Advocate and drive engineering and operational excellence.
  • Create designs for complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on ambitious goals.
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience in networking spanning one or more of the configuration, control and data planes.
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies including developing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
  • Ability to help quickly and resolve customer-related issues.
