Google Cloud Storage (GCS), the foundational object storage service for Google's cloud. This is a planet-scale distributed storage system that manages exabytes of user data, trillions of objects, petabytes of traffic, and millions of queries per second. This massively distributed service supports major global AI, consumer, and enterprise companies, as well as numerous startups, and is a key business driver for Google Cloud. Qualifications
Job responsibilities
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code to implement new features and performance improvements in Google Customer Solutions (GCS) clients.
  • Contribute to the team's design process by writing clear and concise technical design documents for the features, outlining proposed approach and implementation details.
  • Work on debugging and resolving customer-reported issues and internal bugs. Trace problems through the client stack and apply robust fixes to improve the customer experience and system stability.
  • Invest in building automated benchmarking for GCS client performance for key customer use cases by running tests, analyzing results, and helping to implement code changes that address performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in code reviews to both learn from others and help maintain a high standard for code quality across the team.
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development and developing large-scale infrastructure, storage or distributed systems.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with storage technologies/systems.
  • Experience with file systems.
  • Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure software in a distributed environment.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.
