Job summary

JOBSTER PRIVATE LTD. is seeking an Engineer in Developer Productivity & Services, Portal team to build scalable digital platforms and knowledge services for GovTech product discovery and adoption.

You will design reliable platforms, implement APIs, search, and knowledge services, and ensure high availability. Collaboration with product and UX will be essential as you ship secure software for government use.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines
• At least 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer or equivalent position
• Demonstrate the ability to build high-quality, secure software
• Think clearly about abstract problems, with strong debugging and reasoning skills
• Experience in frontend technologies (HTML, CSS and JS/TS) as well as any web framework (React, Angular, Vue etc)
• Experience in Node.js/TypeScript will be advantageous, though we are open to other server-side languages
• Mentored teammates on new ways to deepen their technical craft
• Able to grasp business domain concepts and set appropriate technical directions at the right level of abstraction
• Care deeply about public good, and understand the responsibility of working on critical national infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure platforms that enable government agencies, developers, and AI-powered systems to discover, understand, and adopt GovTech products and services
• Build and integrate APIs, content management systems, search capabilities, and knowledge services to deliver accurate, structured information across platforms
• Define stable interfaces, versioning strategies, and testing approaches for platform components
• Develop reusable components and abstractions to simplify integration and accelerate delivery of new capabilities

As an Engineer in Developer Productivity & Services, Portal team you will:

Build Scalable Digital Platforms and Knowledge Services

Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure platforms that enable government agencies, developers, and AI-powered systems to discover, understand, and adopt GovTech products and services.

Build and integrate APIs, content management systems, search capabilities, and knowledge services to deliver accurate, structured, and accessible product information across multiple platforms.

Define stable interfaces, versioning approaches, error handling, testing strategies, and documentation for platform components.

Develop reusable components, services, and abstractions that simplify integration, improve developer experience, and accelerate the delivery of new capabilities.

Build Product Discovery and Adoption Experiences

Develop intuitive, user-facing experiences across Product Portal, Docs Portal, and Quality Dashboard that help government agencies and developers discover, evaluate, and use GovTech products.

Build product discovery features such as search, filtering, recommendations, and contextual navigation to help users find relevant products and technical information.

Integrate with shared platform capabilities, including product catalogues, subscriptions, and onboarding workflows, to provide seamless experiences across the product adoption journey.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to turn complex user needs into simple, effective digital experiences.

Ensure Quality and Reliability

Design for high availability and resilience - our platforms serve thousands of government developers and agencies daily.

Build observability into services: monitoring, alerting, SLOs, and usage analytics that surface issues before users do.

Implement automated testing and deployment strategies that let the team ship confidently at pace.

Improve the Developer and Agency Experience

Use delivery signals and user feedback to identify friction and prioritize targeted improvements.

Produce clear documentation, onboarding flows, and examples that reduce the learning curve.

Collaborate with UX and product to iterate on interfaces grounded in real usage.

Collaborate Across Teams

Work with tenant and product teams to understand their integration, deployment, and operations needs.

Partner across platform engineering, product, and design to shape APIs and experiences.

Gather feedback from real usage and improve platform capabilities iteratively.
