Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in AI engineering, software engineering, data science or related discipline.
• Hands-on in AI/ML solutions for real applications.
• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks, AI agents, skills and MCPs.
• Strong programming skills in Python or other languages.
• Good understanding of APIs, databases and application architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based data services.
• Familiar with containerisation, orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Agile software development and delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI, ML and analytics solutions to meet business needs.
• Build AI-powered applications and agents using Agentic AI frameworks.
• Move AI solutions from PoC to development, testing and deployment.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in AI, data science and software development to design, build and deploy AI-driven solutions for real-world business needs. The role covers the full development lifecycle, from proof of concept through to production and continuous improvement.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Agentic AI, AI agents, machine learning and modern software engineering, along with a good understanding of cloud technologies, data platforms and application architecture. You will work closely with business and technology teams to identify opportunities for AI and automation and turn them into practical, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI, machine learning and advanced analytics solutions to address business requirements.
• Build and maintain AI-powered applications and agents using Agentic AI frameworks and related technologies.
• Take AI solutions from proof of concept through development, testing, deployment and ongoing enhancement.
• Develop integrations between AI applications, APIs, databases, enterprise systems and business workflows.
• Contribute to the development of frontend and backend applications using sound software engineering practices.
• Work with cloud and technology teams on the architecture, design and implementation of AI-enabled applications and data solutions.
• Develop reusable components, tools and automation to improve development efficiency and engineering standards.
• Conduct functional, integration and performance testing to ensure the quality, reliability and scalability of solutions.
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
• Work within Agile delivery methodologies across planning, development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate database and data architecture options, considering performance, scalability, security and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities to apply AI, automation and data-driven solutions.
• Stay current with developments in AI, machine learning, Agentic AI and software engineering and assess their relevance to the business.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in AI engineering, software engineering, data science, machine learning, web application development or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and implementing AI/ML solutions in practical applications.
• Experience working with Agentic AI frameworks, AI agents, skills, harnesses and MCPs.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or other relevant programming languages.
• Good understanding of software development, APIs, databases and application architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based application or data services.
• Knowledge of database design, implementation and management.
• Familiarity with containerisation, orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Agile software development and delivery practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A strong interest in emerging AI technologies and a commitment to continuous learning.

Desirable

• Experience with platforms such as n8n, Northflank,Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Dataiku, Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience with LLM applications, RAG, vector databases, embeddings and AI evaluation/monitoring.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade AI or Agentic AI applications.
• Familiarity with Whole-of-Government AI tools such as GovTech Desk, OPUS, Airbase/Airlift, or similar platforms.
