Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
• Proven experience with Java, Python, C++, JavaScript or similar languages
• Strong OOP and design pattern knowledge
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with cloud, microservices, or agile methods is a plus

About the role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing development team at our Kaki Bukit East Region office. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in translating business requirements into scalable, efficient code whilst contributing to the technical direction and innovation of our projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a tangible impact on our product offerings.

What you'll be doing

• Design and develop software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks

• Write clean, maintainable code adhering to industry best practices and coding standards

• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and security of applications

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver solutions

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues

• Conduct unit testing and contribute to automated testing frameworks

• Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive code documentation

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance technical capabilities

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

• Proven experience developing software applications using languages such as Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or similar

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows

• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases

• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies

• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices architecture, or agile methodologies

• Preferred: Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
