Location: One North, Singapore
Industry: Information & Communication Technology (ICT) – Homeland Security Solutions, under Codex Project
Role Overview
Codex Solutions is seeking a hands‑on Software Architect/Software Lead to drive end‑to‑end architecture design and technical excellence for complex, enterprise‑grade systems that support Singapore’s homeland security mission.
You will define scalable, secure, and modern solutions using microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines on AWS, and Agile/DevOps practices — ensuring our software platforms are future‑ready, resilient, and maintainable.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design & API Engineering
- Lead end‑to‑end architecture and solution design — from requirements gathering to implementation.
- Develop architecture blueprints and high‑level designs that optimize scalability, performance, and cost‑efficiency.
- Design and review RESTful API architectures for scalable microservices, including endpoint structures for pagination, filtering, and role‑based access.
- Establish API standards, governance, and documentation practices to ensure interoperability and maintainability.
Cloud & CI/CD Engineering
- Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines for microservices applications on AWS, leveraging tools such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, ECS, or EKS.
- Integrate automated testing, vulnerability scanning (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP), and infrastructure as code (IaC) into the delivery pipeline.Promote cloud‑native principles including containerization, scalability, fault tolerance, and observability.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers to optimize deployment workflows and incident response processes.
Agile, DevOps & Delivery Excellence
- Drive architecture and delivery within an Agile Scrum environment, ensuring iterative and incremental design aligned with sprint goals.
- Embed DevSecOps culture and continuous improvement mindset across engineering teams.
Security, Compliance & Quality
- Integrate cybersecurity and compliance considerations into system design.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews, ensuring performance, scalability, and risk management are built‑in from the start.
- Promote observability, resilience, and fault‑tolerant design in all deployed systems.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams, nurturing architectural thinking and system design capabilities.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure architectural integrity and consistent application of standards.
- Contribute to Codex’s internal architecture community for sharing best practices and continuous innovation.
Innovation & Modernization
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools aligned with Codex’s roadmap (AI/ML, low‑code platforms, data streaming, automation, etc.).
- Support R&D and modernization initiatives to future‑prove Codex’s technology platforms.
Solutioning Support
- Partner with bid and delivery teams to develop architecture proposals, estimations, and technical documentation for pre‑engagement activities.
- Participate in client workshops to validate assumptions and align solutions with mission needs.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, preferably in large‑scale or mission‑critical systems.
- Strong hands‑on expertise in REST API design, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
- Proven ability to design CI/CD pipelines for cloud‑native applications, ideally on AWS (e.g., CodePipeline, ECS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
- Deep understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, with real‑world experience in iterative design and continuous delivery.
- Practical exposure to security hardening, performance optimization, and resilience engineering.
- Strong communicator who can bridge technical and business perspectives effectively.
- Experience in public sector or regulated domains is an advantage.
