Job Description

We are seeking a Software & Applications Manager with strong experience in enterprise application lifecycle management, system integration, and regional project leadership. This role requires collaboration with Japan HQ and APAC branches, therefore business-level Japanese proficiency is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full software and application lifecycle management, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Develop application modernization and upgrade strategies; manage technical documentation and governance.
  • Oversee system integration, interface alignment, API specifications, and cross-system data flows.
  • Lead SIT/UAT planning, test coverage, environment coordination, and defect resolution.
  • Establish quality controls, ISO-aligned processes, and regulatory compliance for financial and public-sector systems.
  • Manage multinational development and QA teams across APAC regions.
  • Coordinate with Japan HQ and APAC branches, requiring Japanese-language communication.
  • Handle vendor management, PMO reporting, risk tracking, and deployment readiness assessment.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in software/application management, SDLC oversight, system integration, and enterprise system delivery.
  • Proven experience in regulated industries such as banking, financial services, public sector, utilities, telecom, or logistics.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-country technical teams across APAC.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Japanese (in order to communicate effectively with Japanese speaking clients).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards, IT governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience delivering core banking systems or large-scale enterprise transformation projects.
  • Experience working with Global Japanese banks
  • Familiarity with application architecture, dependency analysis, and system consolidation strategies.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, ITIL, or IPA Japan Project Manager are advantageous.
  • You must have an excellent analytical, presentation and soft skills including communication on how to handle existing clients and be client-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • You must possess a personal attribute such as creativity, positive thinking, quick learning, imagination, leadership, judgment and maturity, curiosity, strong interpersonal skills, professional integrity and initiative.
  • Confident in communicating and presenting at the business level to MNC clients.
