THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors' Community, and Therapy.

Designation: Social Work Associate (Tampines)

Responsibilities

The Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children (EIPIC) helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIPIC Centre involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

Reports to the Asst Senior social worker, Senior Social Worker, HOD (Social Work)

• Case Management
• Facilitate parents' understanding of programme and needs of child
• Establish rapport, engage parents and conduct holistic bio‑psycho‑social assessment of child's and family's needs, risks and strengths
• Evaluate and identify areas for follow up (e.g. referral to internal/external resources)
• Social Work Administrative Matters: manage administrative functions within the social work department, support the worker in generating letters and processing government means test application
• Maintain good record keeping by supporting the social work department in updating and maintaining the database and preparing reports for governing agencies
• Support and assist in audit matters such as periodically checking documents and e‑filing matters
• Collaborative Partnerships/Community Network: demonstrate knowledge of available community resources
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and share/advocate about the needs and concerns of the family
• Engage and work collaboratively with various community agencies (e.g. Family Service Centres, Social Services Offices or other agencies) to ensure holistic case management for the child and family

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Social Work
• 1 to 3 years of experience working with families and children preferred
